Matthew Starr | Northern Colorado Real Estate Agent | The New Horizons Team

Buying or selling a home requires more than finding a property or putting a sign in the yard—it demands a deep understanding of market dynamics, strategic pricing, effective marketing, and skilled negotiation. My mission is to combine these elements with individualized guidance and a genuine commitment to each client's goals, helping them navigate the Northern Colorado real estate market with clarity, confidence, and a well-defined strategy. White-glove real estate service tailored to your journey, whether it's your first home, a growing family, or a new chapter. We listen, anticipate, & handle everything with precise care. Your needs are our specialty. Serving Northern Colorado & Denver. I've called Colorado home since 2006. Although I was born in Oregon, and a piece of my heart will always belong to its ocean and forests, Colorado has become home. The mountains are a sanctuary to me, and the communities throughout this state are places I'm proud to serve. Alongside real estate, I'm a working air traffic controller at Denver Center (ZDV), where I've spent more than 15 years. It is a career that demands precision, sound judgment, clear communication, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure. I work alongside highly intelligent and talented professionals, contributing to one of our country's most important infrastructure systems. I have also negotiated and collaborated with the Federal Aviation Administration on behalf of the National Air Traffic Controllers Association, one of the strongest unions in the USA. I am also an expert in contracts, and I review every term, deadline and contingency with my clients before they sign. These experiences strengthened my negotiation skills and taught me the importance of preparation, collaboration, and advocating effectively for the people I represent. I added real estate to my career because I wanted to work more closely with people and help guide them through one of life's most meaningful milestones: homeownership. I bring the same discipline, analytical thinking, and commitment to service from air traffic control to every real estate relationship. A Commitment to Community Serving others has always been an important part of my life. Over the years, I've been fortunate to contribute to several organizations and community initiatives, including: High Plains Library District Foundation (2021–present): Board member, Chairman of the Strategic Planning and Financial Planning Committees, and Treasurer of the Foundation. Homeowners Association (2024–present): Vice President, helping identify improvements and achieve more than $15,000 in community savings. Elementary School Accountability Committee (2024): Supporting school accountability and educational outcomes. Youth Sports Coach (2015–2019): Helping young athletes develop skills, teamwork, and confidence. Camp and Festival Volunteer (2005–present): Contributing time and energy to community events and initiatives. These are just a few examples of the ways I've sought to make a positive difference. For me, community involvement isn't about recognition. It's about taking responsibility, contributing where I can, and helping create stronger communities for the people who live in them. Real Estate Built on Trust, Expertise, and Advocacy I believe the best real estate relationships are built on trust, transparency, and a genuine commitment to the client's goals. Every property, neighborhood, and transaction presents its own opportunities and challenges. Understanding those differences—and developing the right strategy—is essential to achieving a successful outcome. That's why I started the New Horizons Team: to build a group centered on professional expertise, informed decision-making, personalized service, and meaningful client relationships. From evaluating market conditions and developing pricing strategies to marketing properties and negotiating contracts, our focus is on helping clients understand their options and move forward with confidence. Ultimately, real estate is about people, their goals, and the next chapter of their lives. I'm proud to help individuals and families navigate those decisions throughout Northern Colorado, and I remain committed to serving our clients and communities with integrity, purpose, and care.
